About Geoff

My name is Geoff Gledhill. I’m serving a second term on Council for City of Kingston, in Central Ward, having served as Mayor in 2015. I live in Parkdale with my wife Angie and three adult children.

I’m a keen surf lifesaver and I have a strong interest in community sports and local competitive activities. My favourite places to visit in Kingston include the foreshore, which is fantastic!

Kingston is an exciting and vibrant place to live, learn, work, and play. We have some of Melbourne’s best beaches and community sporting facilities, well-maintained parkland and open space, employment opportunities across every industry, and benchmark education facilities at every level. It’s no surprise that so many people choose to live here!

More About Geoff

I’ve owned retail businesses for the past 25 years. I hold an MBA and am currently undertaking a Doctorate of Business Administration to investigate how the changing demography of Australia impacts on the small business sector.

As a councillor, I believe that prudent financial management is a top priority. Even with rate capping, despite fears, we have had many great outcomes in our city.

Mordialloc Creek is a unique community asset and I believe it requires further work in order for the community to realise its ultimate potential.

I support increased female participation in a broad range of sports, improvements to early learning and community hub programs at Parkdale and Edithvale, and the restructuring of aged care facilities to ensure affordable, high-quality care is available to all.
